She’s coming a little late to the “Singer Turns Actress” game, but Christina Aguilera finally decided it was time to film her own Glitter or Crossroads.

The movie she’s signed to star in is called Burlesque, and she’ll play “an ambitious small town girl with a big voice who finds love, family and success in a Los Angeles neo-burlesque club.” That sounds like success to me! I’m sure her Midwest farmer parents are going to be so proud!

Who gets it into their head that this is a good idea? We are in the midst of a recession, people! Stop lighting your money on fire!

The April wedding only had eight guests, but when Mariah Carey married Nick Cannon this year, she already planned to celebrate their one year anniversary with a big ceremony. Although she says the original was fabulous, Mariah wants others to share in her marital joy:

“People were a little shocked [when they heard we married] but they were all very happy for us. We’ll definitely get them involved in another celebration though. We’ve been talking about doing a bigger wedding on our first anniversary. And maybe another one every year.”

Pink! Purple! Glitter! Rainbows and butterflies! It will be the wedding extravaganza that every six-year-old girl dreams about!

She won’t give up on trying to act… but although this could end up being another Glitter, Mariah Carey is hoping Tennessee finally establishes her as an actress.

I don’t know if that’s going to be the case, but hopefully the movie will at least produce some good music — since Mariah plays a woman who aspires to be a professional singer (surprise!). You can hear Right To Dream below.
