Everyone’s been cutting back the last few months, trying to trim off a few dollars here and there in the monthly budget (except for Paris Hilton, of course).
Even supermodel Elle MacPherson has found ways to live more frugally… but says there are some luxuries she won’t give up:
“I’ve been a conscious consumer for awhile. I traded in my Range Rover for a Lexus and I either bike or take my Fiat Bambino on the school run. My only extravagance is art. It always has a place in my budget. All the artists I love, Lucian Freud, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Tracey Emin, Richard Prince, I’ve invested in.”
I think I should follow her lead, and trade in my Range Rover for a Lexus and get a Fiat Bambino for the little errands around town.
But first I need a Range Rover.
Mischa Barton isn’t the only one who’s ready for the Beautiful Life — supermodel Elle MacPherson will also star in the new CW drama. She will play Claudia, a tough former model who now owns a New York modeling agency.
This isn’t Elle’s first time acting. She appeared in Batman & Robin, and guested in several episodes of television show Friends in the 90s.
Do you think you’ll try watching this show? I won’t… I’m annoyed by the concept itself, but then adding on the heavy-handed joke — calling Elle’s character Claudia in reference to fellow Super Claudia Schiffer — is the last straw.
Sorry, Elle.
Madonna may have Jesus, but Guy Ritchie has a supermodel.
Elle MacPherson, to be precise. Guy spent about four hours with her last night at the Notting Hill Brasserie in London.
Who do you think’s winning the “I’m so over you!” awards? If you’re still on the fence, check out a few more pictures… I’m pretty sure they’ll help you make up your mind.
Elle MacPherson is ready to sue if you say she’s dating Brian Burgess, a convicted drug smuggler. British tabloids speculated about the two when they were photographed together, but the Australian model says they are just old friends. Her rep issued a statement to put those rumors to rest:
“MIss MacPherson emphatically denies that there is any romantic association between her and Mr. Brian Burgess. Miss MacPherson is disappointed her friendship with Mr. Burgess has been so casually misrepresented for commercial sensationalism. Miss MacPherson is aware of Mr. Burgess’s past conduct and also that Mr. Burgess has and continues to take significant steps towards restoring his life. Any continued misrepresentation or invasion of privacy is likely to be the subject of legal proceedings.”
Scary sounding… except that the tabs, even if annoying, have done nothing wrong. When you gain fame, you lose privacy — it’s practically a mathematical formula, people. MacPherson won’t be suing anyone, but she may continue to issue empty threats.
