Tonight, the Lifetime channel will be playing Living Proof, the true story of Dr. Dennis Slamon, a doctor at UCLA who developed the breast cancer drug Herceptin. Harry Connick, Jr. plays the good doctor, and has a supporting cast that includes Bernadette Peters, Amanda Bynes, Angie Harmon, Swoosie Kurtz, Tammy Blanchard, and Regina King.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so it’s the perfect time to learn a little more about the people like Dr. Slamon who are investing their lives to eradicate this disease. The movie airs at 9:00 p.m. EST, and includes an original song by Harry Connick, Jr. called, “Song for the Hopeful.”
