Just in time for Christmas, Placido Domingo is releasing a new album of songs based on the poetry of the late Pope John Paul II. Unveiled yesterday at the Vatican, the CD — entitled Infinite Love — features the voices of Domingo, Josh Groban, Vanessa Williams, and Andrea Bocelli.
Domingo, one of the famed Three Tenors, met the Pope several times before his death, and was moved by his compassion and the love evident in his writing. The opera singer said of John Paul II, “I am sure he will be a saint soon.”
I think this would make an excellent gift for my father, since he loves classical music and these are some of the best voices singing today. The only problem is I can’t find the album for sale anywhere! It may have to wait until next year…
