SNL alum Amy Poehler is rolling out a new television show called Parks and Recreation, but even if it doesn’t work out, she tells The Daily Beast she has options:
“Tina Fey and I have 15 things in development: Laverne and Shirley, Starsky and Hutch 3, Cagney and Lacey, Wonder Twins Activate From Two Hot Broads, Little House on the Prairie: The Musical: The Movie…
[And] I’m going to take all my money out and invest it in gold. Then melt that gold down and then build a gold hotel. Then have people stay in the hotel, paying only in gold. And then light the whole thing on fire, melt it again, and start from scratch. That’s my five year plan.”
Growing up, I wanted to be a violinist, a ballerina, and a painter (simultaneously). In Parks & Recreation, Amy Poehler explains that she always dreamed of being a ranger… or something like that.
Vanity Fair is honoring the comedians who keep us smiling in hard times with a beautiful and humorous photo spread. While all of them are great (including side-by-side portraits of Amy Poehler and husband GOB Will Arnett), I’ve brought you my favorites here!
Tell me, who is your favorite funny person in Hollywood today?
For my birthday wish list this year, I have a few ideas… but one thing that won’t appear on it is bubble wrap.
Yes, popping it is fun… even if it’s just online… but I wouldn’t be that enthused about it as a present. Ellen DeGeneres seemed to like it just fine, however, when guest Amy Poehler gave her 250 feet of it.
Poehler told the talk show host, “When I get a present, I usually like bubble wrap that it’s wrapped in. I like to pop it.”
“It is really satisfying to pop them,” DeGeneres admitted.
Well, what else was she supposed to say in front of an audience?
Who will you be seeing present the Golden Globes this year?
The question hasn’t really had me on the edge of my seat… the holidays kind of distracted me, I suppose… but in case you were curious, they decisions have been made. On stage this year will be Seth Rogen, Amy Poehler, Jennifer Lopez, and Salma Hayek.
Are you excited to see them? Seth and Amy especially should liven things up, I think.
The ceremony this year is #66, and will take place January 11 at the Beverly Hilton.
You know I’m still missing Tina Fey as SNL’s Sarah Palin… but last night’s bit with Amy Poehler was pretty fabulous. If you missed it, you can watch below!
Okay, so there are literally babies everywhere. Yesterday Will Arnett and wife Amy Poehler added another one to the count when she gave birth to Archie Arnett. He was just over eight pounds and was already telling knock-knock jokes by the time we went to press (he’s young and immature… I’m sure his humor will improve).
Congratulations to the happy family!
Oh, and P.S. — that picture of Will and Amy was taken a month ago — meaning that belly was still a good four weeks away from a due date. How did she even manage to walk, much less rap on SNL?
Okay, I tried to restrain myself to one SNL clip but it didn’t work. If you missed SNL last night, you have to watch the amazing Palin Rap by super-pregnant Amy Poehler.
