When Darren La Gallo proposed to Amy Adams, she was not really concerned with him being on one knee or the ring he gave her. The actress was preoccupied with the movie she was about to wrap, Julie and Julia. She admitted that she had no clue what was going on when he took her for a carriage ride through Central Park:
“I felt really bad for Darren. I was like, ‘You should get a re-do because you were cheated.’ All I was thinking about was my last day at work.”
Hey, he knew her schedule and he knew he was proposing to an actress. I don’t feel overly sorry for him, just sad they didn’t enjoy the romance of the carriage ride quite as much as they should’ve.
Oh, Amy Adams. I think you’re wonderful, and I love your movies. You’re cute and your hair color is divine.
But you should immediately place an angry phone call to whoever was in charge of your recent Allure cover, because they made you look a teensy bit ugly. Which I suppose goes along with the claim you made during the interview about your appearance in high school:
“I was homely. Painfully small, short, with too much blue eye shadow because I thought, it matches my eyes, so why not? Trying desperately to fit in.”
But you look delicately beautiful in the other photos they took, so I can only assume the cover was an act of vengeance or laziness on the part of some graphic designer, not a way to tie in the story.

Daddy Ben Stiller worked with Amy Adams in Night at the Museum 2, and one day asked her for a favor. Turns out, Ben’s daughter Ella loved Amy as Giselle in Enchanted, and desperately wanted to meet her. Amy agreed, and surprised the little girl with an afternoon tea party.
Of course Ben was thrilled that Ella was so happy, saying that the girl time was “pretty special.”
After playing a princess in Enchanted, Amy Adams is less than enchanted with the idea of playing princess on her wedding day. When she marries fiance Darren Le Gallo, the actress insists it will be private:
“After Enchanted the idea of being in a big, white dress is not as exciting as one would think. I have a feeling that one day we will wake up and decide to get married and we’ll just go off and do it. Actually I would like a wedding that was just over. Isn’t that unromantic?
There is so much emphasis on having the perfect wedding and I think that’s great if it’s something you have fantasized about your whole life, but that’s never been my fantasy.”
It seems odd to me to spend thousands of dollars to have the “perfect” wedding that looks just like everyone else’s “perfect” wedding. I think I’m more in Amy’s camp on this one. Make the wedding what you want it to be.
Confessions of a Shopaholic made for great beach reading, and despite an economy that makes the storyline a little less humorous, I still plan to see the movie when it comes out. It stars one of my favorite redheads: Amy Adams Isla Fisher!*

Last night the lovely Catherine Zeta-Jones hosted the Fourth Annual A Fine Romance, which is billed as a celebration of “the love affair between Broadway and Hollywood.” Inspired by Zeta-Jones and a good cause, all the area beautiful people showed up.
The event was sponsored by the Motion Picture & Television Fund, which provides assistance, residential and retirement care for seniors, healthcare, child care, wellness programs, etc. for people in the entertainment industry.
