Someone is not as important as she thought she was!
Mariah Carey’s ego got beat up this week when she discovered that she was getting seated with the plebians at the inauguration. The singer apparently thought she’d be standing next to Barack Obama at the podium.
Geez, Michelle, couldn’t you have sat down so Mariah could have your spot? “First Lady” isn’t even a real job, anyway.
When Mariah realized she was expected to be reduced to the VIP area with commoners like Jon Bon Jovi, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and Bruce Springsteen, she walked out in a huffy blaze of glittery anger.
I’ve always admired Alicia Keys — she’s talented, passionate, and unafraid to be herself.
Another reason to admire her: she founded the Keep A Child Alive Foundation, which supplies medication to African children and families affected by AIDS. The singer recently appeared on Tyra Banks with one of the AIDS-afflicted children her organization is helping. Little Noah wants to be a musician when he grows up — so Tyra gave him the opportunity to perform on her show!
The Quantum of Solace theme, Another Way to Die, was performed by Jack White and Alicia Keys and is now available by streaming audio on The Third Man Records website.
British singer Noel Gallagher of Oasis recently slammed the movie’s producers for choosing American musicians for a Bond flick. He charmingly commented, “It’s a bit of a piss-take that the greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of f***ing Americans.”
I’m sure Noel has momentarily forgotten that the movie is produced in America, by Americans, and most-watched by Americans. At any rate, listen to the song and post your take on it below in the comments.
