Given the fact that Adam Lambert finally clarified for everyone that’s into men… why did women’s underwear get thrown on stage during his tour? The American Idol star explained what happened at a Vancouver show after a huge pink bra landed near him:
“That was my favorite moment on tour so far. It cracked me up. And then wadded-up panties came onstage, and it looked a bit funky. I picked up the bra and flung it back out in the audience. But the panty, I just slid it around the stage with my foot. I didn’t want to touch it.”
Yeah, no joke. So gross, but especially for someone who has no inherent desire to be with a woman anyway.
The new Adam Lambert album is not something the American Idol contestant is happy about.
On With The Show is being released by Hi Fi Recordings/Wilshire Records, who claim that the material was recorded between 2007 and 2008. Adam, however, says it’s older and poorly reflects his abilities:
“Back in 2005 when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else. I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio…
I’m thrilled to be working with some of today’s hottest songwriters and producers and can’t wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like.”
Okay, Lambert fans, take the poll — would you buy this album?
Looks like Adam Lambert has an album coming out this summer.
Seem too soon? It’s because the singer had old material that a label is releasing (not the one he just signed with). Good timing for them! They get the old terms and contract agreement, but get to capitalize on Adam’s newfound fame.
The first single that’s leaked is called Want, and you can listen to it here!
While the world’s residents pointlessly wonder about Adam Lambert’s sexuality, people who have actually been working with him are wondering how he got to be such a jerk.
According to one such person, American Idol excitement must’ve gotten to Adam’s head:
“He is such a diva. Rude to everyone — from fans right down to the lighting folks.”
A music producer said that if he’s wise, the singer will sweeten his behavior:
“No one sells that many records these days to be able to get away with that kind of behavior. To be a success you need literally everyone in your corner.” (via MSNBC)
This is soooo different than how he comes across in television interviews. He really seems like the nicest, most humble guy. Have we been played, or is Adam just having a celebrity moment?
Remember Clay Aiken? Remember how he said Adam Lambert’s American Idol performance made his ears bleed? Remember how he blogged that he didn’t really mean it like that and knew Adam would get it?
Adam got it.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, he put Clay in his place:
“I don’t know Clay. I’m glad he’s getting headlines now though, because he wasn’t before. If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him.”
This was followed by Adam Lambert sending a thumbs up to Clay through the TV screen.
HA!
Clay teared up, hugged his kitty cats a little tighter, and called his mommy to hear her say that he is the prettiest Idol runner-up of all.
Well, if Adam Lambert isn’t “technically” out of the closet, his brother Neil seems to have made sure he got there.
Over the course of th last season of American Idol, Neil Lambert’s been posting his opinion of the goings-on, and in one he made it clear what he thinks Adam’s sexual orientation is:
“What pisses me off is that people think he’s not talking about it because he’s scared of what’ll happen. Look at the loving TV and tell me he’s scared of weirding people out. Yeah right.
The truth is, American Idol shouldn’t be about the contestants’ silly personal stories. Had Danny Gokey not gone the Pity Party route, he would’ve been out sooner because he’s just not that exciting of a singer. I don’t want to see Adam on-screen whimpering about how hard it is to be a gay man in America because it doesn’t have to do with his singing. Adam didn’t want to fuse a sob story into his Idol persona. He wants to sing and entertain, not make people vote for him out of sympathy.”
I don’t think it’s ever been a huge secret, so it’s sad that Neil felt it was an even issue worth bringing up. What do you think, though? Should Neil have kept his mouth shut about this and let Adam handle it his own way?
Clay Aiken had some really sweet words about Adam Lambert’s American Idol performance a few days ago, but someone smacked him in the head and told him not to make the fan pool angry.
So our dear Clay posted a new blog entry on his website, explaining what he “really” meant. Funny, though, he deleted his original post that angered so many. If what he said was really a-okay, I don’t understand why that was necessary… but Clay knows best.
The singer challenged gossip blogs to republish his words without distorting them, so I’m giving it to you unedited. Tell me what you think.
Who knew I had so much influence and that my words and opinion mattered so much to so many people!?!?! HA HA HA I’ll be the first to admit that my opinion is just that, only my opinion, but for as much as some of the bloggers seem to dislike me and care so little about my thoughts, they sure can waste a lot of their space on what I say! If only many of them took the time to pay attention to important things like the US economy and the welfare of the world’s children. But… nah… I could blog about that type of stuff anytime and most wouldn’t think twice, but let me say something that they can pick and choose quotes and misinterpret me… and it’s showtime! I never assumed my opinion mattered so much! I guess I may have been wrong.
That said, since my previous blog got dissected like a biology lab frog, i suppose I should clarify and even retract some of what I wrote.
I am sure that some were upset by my choice of words describing my opinion of a performance I heard from Adam Lambert. I hope no one actually believed that blood truly poured forth from my ears when I heard him. I obviously meant it as a colorful statement to imply that I did not enjoy what I heard. Any performer hopes that their music will appeal to all people, but no singer realistically expects it to. God knows, I am SURE there are PLENTY of people who can’t stand to hear me sing either. I wouldn’t dream of assuming that, and I am sure that far worse things have been said about my performances than I would even venture to type here. To me, that’s fine. I don’t expect unanimous, nor even majority support for my music. But, my guess is Adam doesn’t either. I would not venture to make judgements on the personality or demeanor of anyone I don’t know, so none of what I said in my previous blog was directed as a “slam” on Adam as a person. At the same time, I wouldn’t dream of slamming him as an entertainer. He does what he does, because he enjoys it, and he obviously has many fans who enjoy it as well. If what i said in my previous blog regarding my impression of a single performance from Adam upset or offended any of his fans, I expect that the mature ones will realize that it was simply a poorly worded metaphor describing my personal tastes. The only person I would really dream of apologizing to is Adam. And the irony is, if he’s smart he couldn’t give a crap what I think of his Ring of Fire performance. As an entertainer, Adam knows that one person’s opinion of one performance really matters a little less than zero, in the grand scheme of things. He could not have gotten on Idol (nor made it as far as he did) without an immense amount of talent. He surely doesn’t need my approval to know he has a gift. At the same time, he realizes that amazing talent doesn’t always equal universal appeal. (I could NEVER have the amount of skill and talent that ballet dancers have! that’s talent! But, I don’t particularly enjoy it!) I am sure that I will have plenty of opportunities in the coming years to hear Adam sing. I imagine he’ll be around for years to come. But in the meantime, I definitely don’t want to stoop to the level of so many negative freaks on the internet… so, I do apologize to Adam for my colorful (and negative) choice of words. I hope he can forgive me. I imagine he doesn’t give a d*mn! God knows he shouldn’t.
Now, for those of you who are able to comment on this…. lets take bets as to which bits and pieces of this blog will end up mass distributed. Be creative…. they don’t seem to care about punctuation or whether or not they use all of the words in a sentence… so, have fun….
A lot of talking… a lot of words… a lot of excuses.
CoverGirl was smart in hiring Ellen DeGeneres as a spokesmodel. The talk show host pushed their products in today’s show while interviewing American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert:
“If you’re going to continue wearing makeup, may I suggest CoverGirl and Olay Simply Ageless Foundation?
There is one thing that I have a problem with. You’re going to be responsible for, next year, so many men showing up wearing nail polish and eyeliner thinking that that’s all it takes. I predict we’re going to see so many men wearing makeup next year thinking, ‘Well, they like it. People want to see men doing that.’”
Adam laughed it off with the good nature for which he’s known, and then they talked the same rut of Kris Allen, surprise loss, blah blah zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…
A late congratulations to Kris Allen, this season’s winner of American Idol!
And for those of you who love him, we have his latest single… No Boundaries. It was written by judge Kara DioGuardi, and both Kris and Adam Lambert has the chance to perform it. Obviously, the winner got to release it.
So enjoy the win and enjoy your Thursday morning with Kris.
This season’s contestants on American Idol have finally been narrowed down to Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, both of whom are obviously talented. But instead of just letting it be a fun show, a contest, some are trying to politicize the competition. The New York Daily News quotes Chris Lehane, a political consultant who worked the presidential campaigns for Al Gore and John Kerry:
“The profiles of Adam and Kris suggest that this is really a red state versus blue state showdown… It will come down to hether Adam is able to built on the blue-state, progressive wave we have seen building since 2006, or whether this is a last gasp for the red state viewer/voter… I am hoping that Dick Cheney comes out and tells people to vote for Kris, thus assuring Adam wins.”
Lehane isn’t the only one who’s trying to turn this into a political battleground, unfortunately. Why can’t this just be about talent? Neither contestant is trying to push a politics or an agenda, so why is everyone else forcing it?
