Women love to think of themselves as wild safari animals to be hunted, and nerdy boys like British-accented narration to their documentaries, so this Gamestop training video makes complete sense.
Right?
Supposedly this is for internal use with Gamestop employees, help them learn to interact with women. I think it’s more of a viral advertisement (look for it around the 4:25 mark).
Either way, it’s amusing… even though it reminds me of a few real-life situations that were similar and not so funny. Like the grad school prof who tried to compliment me on a coffee cake I baked: “You know, Christina, I always thought of you as an intellectual, but now I see that you’re a domestic. Ha, ha.”
Yes, I’m still irritated by that.

Wow. I couldn’t even finish the training video; it only furthers my belief that GameStop employees are all dumb. ARGH.
And now, I will use this opportunity for my own personal rant-time. GameStop, I hate you. Well, I guess that is a little strong. Gamestop, you positively annoy me, and I really only put up with you because I want the instant gratification of purchasing a game in stead of waiting for it on Gamefly. I do not like going into a Gamestop and having an employee, who knows nothing, approach me and explain something I already know and they are wrong about. HELLO. Did I ASK for you assitance in helping me find Assasin’s Creed? I think not. Besides, maybe I just want to browse. Stop pouncing on me like I am some sort of prize in a game, or Princess Daisy in Mario Brothers. I swear if you come one step closer using your INCORRECT gaming jargon, I will attack, using these RockBand mics as nunchucks. I will pwn you, noob.
Several (okay, more than several) years ago, when I bought a Ps2 (make no mistake, I now own a PS3 and a Wii - i refuse to get an Xbox, it’s a microsoft product, I can play those on a PC, I asked the associate for some advice on fun games. I explained that I had a Ps1 until recently, and I hadn’t really been keeping up on my game reading. In addition, I mostly had played SNES games. He directed me to some really dumb games. Okay, I like a good girl game, myself (I love spyro), but c’mon, didn’t I tell you I liked TonyHawk and Siphonfilter? Why are you directing me to games suggested for SMALL CHILDREN? (I am serious, EB Games has always been way more helpful, they assume that if a girl is in the store, it is because they are “one of them.”) That’s it, i am now going to have to shoot fireballs out of my face at you. THEN, I will use Sonja Blade’s fatality.
Also, as afore mentioned, the employees are dumb. I think I have come across MAYBE 3 employees that have been cool, and they are usually managers or friends. My real problem is that when I ask for a piece of gaming equipment, and call it by its proper name, instead of describing it all girly, they don’t know what I am talking about. “Hi, I would like a DualShock3″ “Uh..” “you know, the rumble control for the Ps3, it is blutoothy and stuff…*giggle*” “Oh, okay, yea, I have that right here.” ARRRGh.
At least now I can sort of understand why they are all idiots. Maybe, if you just acted like yourself(I would assume if you work at GameStop you have all of the amazing qualities that I positively love about gamers, use your awesomeness, dude!) instead of adhering to a dumb-a$$ training video, we would be cool; however, I instead have to be annoyed by your idiocy.
